The Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC), operating on the market under the Vivacom brand, has closed the sale of 50% in its National Unit Radio and TV Stations (NURTS) unit to Cyprus-registered international financial investor Mancelord Limited, the telecom said.
Under the deal already entered into the Bulgarian trade registry, the former state-run monopoly will transfer NURTS in the special purpose vehicle NURTS Bulgaria, which is owned by Mancelord, at the price of EUR 57 million.

Bulgaria’s Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) has revoked the licence of investment brokerage Varnenski Investitsionen Posrednik – 7 (VIP-7), the FSC said. This is the latest company to exit the market after earlier this month Bulfin Invest and Sofia Invest Brokerage were stripped of their licences. Producer prices in Bulgaria’s farming sector decreased by 9.8% year-on-year in the second quarter of the year, whereas no change was detected in livestock breeding, according to data by the National Statistical Institute (NSI). Grain crops producer prices staged a 9.6% decline; industrial plants fell by 10.5%; fruits and vegetables were down by 9.8% and livestock by 1.9%. The Bulgarian ports of Bourgas, in the south, and Varna, in the north, are experiencing increased exports of grain crops, which is expected to continue into September. The bulk of Bulgaria’s grain produce travels to markets in the Arab countries and Europe. The port of Bourgas exported 236,000 tonnes of grain crops between January and end-July.
